Pray for James

11/27: Yesterday I stopped by Jen's blog Jimbob!, which tracks Jen's son James' progress as he battles Wilms Disease. I was thrilled to read that James is doing better!

He is by no means out of the woods, but it was so good to hear that this amazing little guy was at last facing a more positive future. He's home, and his family is now able to get back to a more typical daily life, complete with work and school and everything else we all take for granted. Jen is therefore stopping the blog - the last day it will be available is Friday, November 30. Please go over and leave your thoughts and prayers for James and his family, who will certainly need them in the future just as they've needed them so far.

I pass on Jen's plea that everyone pitch in to help fight childhood cancer:

I will make one last plea that you join our fight against pediatric cancers. Go to CureSearch and learn how you can help. We need your help.

Jen also asks that we write our elected officials in support of the Conquer Childhood Cancer Act. Let's do it - let's give kids like James the best possible chance to beat cancer.

James and Jen, you and your entire family are inspiritional. I've been amazed at your strength throughout this long ordeal. I've been amazed, too, at James strength. He is one tough little guy. Hugs, blessings and prayers for continued healing to you all!

Thanks, Ryan, for alerting everyone to James' situation last year:

Just wanted to give a little more info on James. He was adopted from Korea last fall, and he just turned 1 year old. He was diagnosed with cancer right after he arrived in the US, and it has been a struggle to get him healthy ever since. This little boy needs prayers BADLY... ever update from his mom (Jen) seems to be worst than the last. PLEASE PLEASE pray HARD for him... add him to your church prayers list, e-mail your friends, whatever. I wish we could all do more, but I'm afraid that's all we can do right now.

Hi Margie
We're doing a Good Wishes Quilt for Baby James... a take-off of the 100 Good Wishes Quilt idea that is a Chinese Tradition at Birth in that each of the pieces of cloth are infused with the blessings of each of the people who donated it. We currently have over 70 folks participating and may in fact truly reach our 100 Good Wishes - which would be fantastic. Instructions on how to participate are on my blog. I need the donated fabric by Fri., April 20th however, if folks want to participate. Please everyone, keep this sweet baby boy in your prayers...He def. needs them right now!

Hi, Hockeymom, thanks for the comment. Leigh has sent me the instructions, so if you could email me (see my right sidebar) I'll send them to you.

And of course this goes for anyone else who would like to participate in Leigh's quilt project! Thanks, Leigh, for doing this, as I know the Schrandts appreciate it.
